Although there isn’t a ton to like out there on the racks, there are some can’t miss books, including the pivotal 45th issue of Batman and the return of some old school Lois and Clark.

Lots to like once again on the racks this Wednesday, including the latest Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale hued epic- Captain America: White.

Some gems hit comic shops today, including all the big boys and girls of the superhero set, and the can’t miss continuation of the brilliant Hellboy in Hell.

It might be SDCC week out in sunny San Diego, but the closest most of us will get is right here at home in our local comic shop.

Tons of great stuff in stores this week for the comic fans among us.

Marvel’s Secret Wars mini-series and its world redefining offshoots continue to roll out this week, along with more post-Convergence DC books, with shake-ups for Aquaman, Flash, and more.

It’s kind of a big deal that Secret Wars and Convergence, two very similar event books, are happening at basically the same time right now from DC and Marvel. That’s not to say that there’s not other great stuff on the racks this week though.

DC Comics’ biggest event of the year (actually, the last few years) finally kicks off with Convergence #0 in a pretty full week of notable releases.

There’s a lot to like from a whole bunch of publishers on the stands today, including the new Hellboy spinoff Frankenstein Underground, Batgirl: Endgame, and Transformers: Combiner Wars Opening Salvo.

The headline book this week is, undoubtably, Spider-Gwen. The oddly titled Spidey spin-off isn’t the only thing worthy your time though, as this is a pretty beefy week all around for new comics from just about every publisher.

Not a bad week for some of the biggest characters in comics. The Amazo Virus arc comes to a close in Justice League, while The Valiant tosses almost envy hero that the Valiant U has at the Immortal Enemy.

Marvel’s ongoing series starring one of the greatest villains of all time arrives with Darth Vader #1. And while one sci-fi comic book saga is just getting started, Dark Horse’s massive Alien/Predator/Prometheus crossover comes to a definitive close.

The original Spawn returns this week with an issue number (250) that comics just don’t see these days, Superman gets new everything in an issue that brings the first arc of Romita’s run to a close, Valiant’s villain-led Imperium arrives, and Marvel’s Star Wars rolls on.

A pretty packed week sees some big moments in both Marvel and DC, as well as the latest issue of IDW’s X-Files book, and X-O Manowar taking on the Armorines over in Valiant.

The Amazo Virus wreaks havoc in Justice League #38, resulting in a super-powered Batman, and Spider-Verse rolls on in Marvel’s Spidey titles.

Star Wars launches into a brand new universe from Marvel Comics this week, and is the ‘don’t miss’ title on the slate, though there’s plenty more vying for your dollar as well.
