Mezco’s Diabolik hits pre-order, brings the super-thief home for the first time

Probably one of the more niche figures from Mezco, as goes their One:12 Collective, Diabolik is pretty neat. For fans of the character, it could be a must have.

Diabolical!

I have no idea who Diabolik is. I first saw the figure at a NY Toy Fair a while back, and he looked cool enough, but the fact remanded I had no clue who he is. If you’re in that same camp, then you might want to read through the little piece of preview text that Mezco sent over to us.

Raised as an orphan on the secret island hideout of a criminal organization, Diabolik became a master of disguise – crafting lifelike masks that allow him to assume virtually any identity. Specializing in grandstand burglaries, the super criminal keeps the loot all to himself.

Gotta say that’s pretty cool. Diabolik hails from an Italian comic book series created back in the 60’s, created by the sister act of Angela Giussani and Luciana Giussani. It’s a beloved book, that’s even spawned a movie. And while he doesn’t have a huge name here in the States, he has had a cartoon series on Fox Kids.

As for the figure, he’s pretty much a spot-on copy of the comic version. He comes with a ton of accessories, and that’s always a nice thing to see in a One:12’er. Expect Diabolik to ship out in the late summer, 2019 time frame.
