Devil May Cry 5 blasts onto the Switch 2

The latest entry in the DMC series is back in action, as Devil May Cry 5 Devil Hunter Edition arrives on the Switch 2.

Even a Devil May Cry

First released in 2019, Devil May Cry 5 still represents the latest game in the long-running series. One of publisher Capcom’s best-loved properties, the stylish action title brought in a full cadre of heroes, including a newcomer. That would be V, who joined Dante, Nero, and Vergil (via DLC) for a massive battle against demonic hordes in a post-apocalyptic world.

We have to admit though, we’re a little confused as to why another sequel hasn’t been mentioned in the years since that release. DMC5 got a healthy amount of praise after all, delivering more of the series’ signature action. That’s plus the fact that all of the main heroes played pretty differently. So there was a lot there for fans to sink their teeth into.

But while a new game in the set is still in the ether, we do have some interesting news to share nonetheless. That, as you saw above, would be that Devil May Cry 5 Devil Hunter Edition is here for the Switch 2. Yes, we said “is here”, because it’s actually out right now.

Capcom dropped the game onto the Switch 2’s digital storefront yesterday.

Devil May Cry 5 Devil Hunter Edition is priced in at $29.99 USD until July 31st, 2026. The early adopter discount dries up after that point, and will see the price tag rise to $39.99 USD.

The core DMC5, with a lot more included

Devil May Cry 5 Devil Hunter Edition is looking pretty sharp, playing on Nintendo’s latest hardware. Capcom says the game will run at 60fps across both the Switch 2’s docked and handheld modes too, which is pretty impressive. But as you can see from the game’s title, this isn’t just the vanilla experience. Instead, this new version of Dante’s latest comes fully loaded.

That Vergil downloadable content that we mentioned above? Yeah, that’s actually included this time. And that’s not all, as “costume colors, taunts, and battle tracks” are all onboard as well. Wanna see the full list of what’s packed in? You can find that below.

  • Five Devil Breaker arms for Nero
  • The Cavaliere R weapon for Dante
  • The EX Color Pack for Dante, Nero, Nico, Trish, and Lady
  • DMC 1-4 Battle Tracks
  • Alternate Style Rank Announcers
  • Alternate Title Calls
  • Live-action cutscenes
