TMNT #300 getting blind bagged covers

Publisher IDW is prepping issue #300 of its Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. That includes a selection of blind bagged TMNT variants.

TMNT turn 300

Fans of IDW’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series know well that’s it’s one of the longest-lived adaptions of the core property to date. Launching in 2011, the comic has included some truly massive story arcs, along with a correspondingly massive list of existing and new characters. Of course, there’s been plenty of action too. It wouldn’t be a Ninja Turtles comic without that. The book has even seen a recent soft-reboot, with a new direction.

With that included, the legacy numbering is getting up there. Just how far up there? Well, as you can see above, that’d be to lofty number 300. Not just a landmark issue for numbering, TMNT #300 will also fire up new narrative. That story will be dubbed ‘The City That Never Dies’, and willsee the Hamato clan reunited.

The action will hail from writer Gene Luen Yang, who’ll be joined by artists Freddie E. Williams II and Fero Pe. IDW says that there’ll be “a wild trip through TMNT’s history” too, with what sounds like a backup tale. And wow does that have some monster “TMNT” names attached.

Names don’t get much bigger than creator Kevin Eastman in the world of the Ninja Turtles, though he’s not alone. Joining him will be another longtime Turtles name, with writer Tom Waltz. As for the artists, look for Ben Bates, Eric Talbot, Chris Allan, Frank Fosco, Jim Lawson, and Dan Duncan.

With the Ninja Turtles’ mother and Splinter now resurrected and reunited with their family for the first time ever in the modern era, Clan Hamato is stronger than ever… And they’ll need that strength to fight what’s coming. A danger unlike anything they have ever faced before threatens to destroy the worlds of the living and the dead alike.

As for the base variants, the talents of Kevin Eastman & Peter Laird, Frank Miller, J. Scott Campbell and others will be included in that lot. Those will be fully visual on the racks. So if you’re targeting one or more of ’em, you should be able to take your pick.

Some of those same names will be included in the blind bag option as well however. And as implied, those wanting a set will probably have a little but of a tougher time completing it. Scroll down to get a glimpse of a few, as well as a full list of what’ll be available at retail.
