MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics loads up with 7 iconic titles

Capcom is back with another collection, and this one’s a gem and a half for Marvel fans looking to dig into some true classics.

Gonna take you for a ride

Well, we have to admit we’ve been waiting for something like this. Yes, it’s another collection of classic Capcom games, but this one’s special, as it includes some of the flat-out greatest fighting games ever made, and some of which are seldom seen these days.

Those include a seven-pack of iconic Marvel Comics fighting games, plus a hidden gem with The Punisher. If you have never played that, and you probably haven’t since it’s never really been ported to a home console, it’s a side-scrolling action title that stars the title hero and Nick Fury.

So yeah, we’re pretty pumped.

  • X-MEN® CHILDREN OF THE ATOM
  • MARVEL SUPER HEROES
  • MARVEL™ vs. CAPCOM® CLASH OF SUPER HEROES
  • MARVEL™ vs. CAPCOM® 2 New Age of Heroes
  • MARVEL SUPER HEROES™ vs. STREET FIGHTER®
  • X-MEN™ vs. STREET FIGHTER®
  • THE PUNISHER™

Capcom press release

All of the above titles will naturally have online modes, and will come complete with leaderboards. Capcom also adds that, yes, all the games in the compilation will include rollback netcode. Packed in too, will be a Spectator Mode, if said fans feel like just passively watching some action, and a jukebox, museum, selectable alternate display filters, and “more”.

MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics will be out digitally and physically some time later this year, for the Switch, PC, and… PS4? Apparently there’s no official PS5-branded edition of the game in the offing which is kind of weird from where we sit, though of course the PS4 version should be fully playable on Sony’s current console.

Weirder still however, is that there’s no mention of an Xbox edition. We’re almost sure that’ll be along at some point, but it certainly looks as though that won’t be in 2024.
