There’s a brand new multiplayer mode coming up for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and it’s set to debut via this month’s Fanatics Fest.
Fanatics see Kill Block first
By now, every Call of Duty fan knows that a fourth Modern Warfare title is incoming. The new game will pick up from the last episode of the rebooted series, but also looks like it’ll be shaking things up a bit when it comes to narrative.
Early looks at the campaign have, so far, been packed with surprises. A drastic shift in (at least part of) the storyline will see action in the Koreas, a first. It’s big-stakes stuff too, as the North is seen invading the South. That’s not all though, as Price is apparently a rogue agent, and hunted by none other than Ghost.
For those elements alone, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 looks like it might be a title to watch for fans.
As neat as the above looks, there’s more. The multiplayer looks like it’s also set to cause some shaking, though in a way that might have it getting back to basics. If true, that’d be great, especially for those who feel the game had strayed way too far from its core themes.
To that end, we’ve seen a bit of the in-game action to date, but apparently there’s more to come. And by that, we mean a whole new mode. According to Activision, that would be Kill Block, which will… well, actually, we don’t really know what Kill Block will entail. The only hint that’s arrived is that it looks to take place in a pretty contained arena.
That much at least, we could tell from the teaser video posted to X earlier today.
Debuting in NYC
Intrigued? Well, those who are interested won’t have too long to wait. As you can see above, Activision has also revealed that Kill Block will be debuting this very month. That happening will be at Fanatics Fest, in New York City. Yes, Fanatics Fest.
If you’re not familiar with the convention in question, Fanatics Fest is all about sport. Taking place at the Javits Center in NYC, and hosted by the Fanatics brand, Fanatics Fest 2026 is set to welcome in a massive amount of monster talent.
Just how monster? Well, the likes of Eli Manning, Shaquille O’Neal, Tom Brady, LeBron James, Carlos Beltran, Novak Djokovic, Brett Favre, David Wright, Daryl Strawberry, and Cam Skattebo, are all scheduled. Actually, let’s add the world champion NY Knicks to that lineup also. Jalen Brunson and a host of others are named on the official website.
To put it mildly, it sounds like a big show. On top of all those stars though, the event will also include the aforementioned Call of Duty. Now, just how the game’s new Kill Block mode will be featured, we’re honestly not sure. But nevertheless, Fanatics Fest looks to be where its introduction will take place.
As for the show itself, fans can look for that to run from July 16th through the 19th. Tickets are on sale now too, if you’re going to be in town. As far as Kill Block though, we’ll look to have any trailers or press releases/info for you right here on BG, as it’s released.
