Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 hits home next month

Marvel and James Gunn’s trilogy-ending Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 just capped off a theatrical run, but it’s already hitting home video, and soon.

End of an era

Did you check out director James Gunn’s trilogy capper, for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy series? The film basically just completed its theatrical run, and finished off the saga of the original Guardians team, as goes its MCU incarnation.

In Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, our beloved band of misfits is looking a bit different these days. Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), still reeling from a terrible loss, must rally his team and embark on a dicey, action-packed mission to defend the universe and protect Rocket. Meanwhile, a new, unpredictable force threatens to bring the Guardians down for good. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is written and directed by James Gunn.

Marvel press release

If you missed the flick in cinemas, no worries, because you have another chance and it’s coming up fast. As with a good deal of films these days, there’s little to no wait between appearing in the theaters and heading home, as the movie is about to land on home video formats. Well, digital ones anyway.

Fans can look for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 to arrive on digital storefronts on July 7th. The wait will be a little longer for the physical launch, which will be on August 1st, for 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD.

It sounds like you’ll be in for at least a few bonus features, whichever way you go, though you might want to look into which comes with each format, since it’s not listed in the release.

As for what’s coming though, we do have info on that.
