E3 2014: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt release date, collector’s edition and retail bonuses set

Fans of all things monster hunting and dark fantasy can get their hands on the Witcher 3 this February, complete with a nice little treasure haul of extras in the retail box and a Collector’s Edition.

Still looking like one f the best next generation RPG’s to be announced, CD Projekt RED’s third and final The Witcher title is a fitting cap on a trilogy that evolved a genre and captured both the press’ and gamer’s attention like few others. With the game now announced to be debuting on February 24th, 2015 for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC, CD Projekt RED is ready to talk retail exclusives and the almighty Collector’s Edition.

“Behold, the Collector’s Edition of The Witcher–over two kilograms of the most badass monster slayer, ready to bring your desktop figure collection to a whole new level,” said Adam Badowski, Head of Studio, CD PROJEKT RED.

It is quite a Collector’s Edition, though we probably shouldn’t have expected much less seeing as this is the swan song for the series. In the box, you can expect

– All the contents from the standard edition of the game
– A giant, 33x24x26 cm (10”), 100% hand painted, Polystone figure of Geralt of Rivia battling a Griffin
– An exquisite, collector-grade Witcher medallion
– A one-of-a-kind SteelBook™ box
– A two-hundred-page artbook, containing breathtaking art from the game
– Huge outer and inner Collector’s Boxes you can store your Witcher merchandise in!

And if you’re not looking to buy into the CE, you’re still going to get some cool extras in the standard box for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It’s not quite as much as what you’d get in that limited release, but it’s still way more than you would normally think.

Aside from the game, you’ll be in for a soundtrack (on CD, not a download), the Witcher Universe compendium, a map of the in-game world, a sheet of stickers, and “a stylish, protective” sleeve. Not a bad deal by any stretch, when most gamers are used to getting nothing but a disc and warning sheet in the box.
