Animal Crossing-Like, Hokko Life, Gets Trailer

The wait for the newest Animal Crossing title on Nintendo platforms is just about over, but the relaxed life-sim genre is getting another participant in the form of Hokko Life.

Hokko Life doesn’t have a release date yet, but it is clear the game is targeting the Animal Crossing audience. The trailer, which you can see below, showcases a human moving into an animal village by train before settling in for an idyllic life.

The first trailer shows off crafting, fishing, bug catching and various villagers. The game looks exceptionally similar to Animal Crossing, but honestly, as it will appear on Steam, that might not be a bad thing for Animal Crossing fans who have yet to make the jump to the Switch. Another differentiating factor is the crafting. We know crafting is coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons as well.

Hokko Life is the work of solo developer Robert Tatnell. The animations on the game seem a tad rough, but with no release date yet announced, there is plenty of time for Tatnell to sharpen the game up.

Check out the game’s website. For more information, follow the game’s development on Discord.
