Sideshow set to produce Baldur’s Gate III collectibles and more

Baldur’s Gate III fans are about to have some merch to shop, as Sideshow has grabbed the license for a line of collectibles and art.

Opening Baldur’s Gate

Released in the summer of 2023, Baldur’s Gate III was a landmark for a few reasons. For one thing, it was the return of a semi-forgotten Dungeons & Dragons property. Back in the 90s, Baldur’s Gate was a huge name in action/RPG’s, but then vanished altogether. So to see it back and in a new form, was pretty slick.

On top of that, BG3 was a breakthrough hit for Larian, a long-lived company that had previously produced games like Divine Divinity. Maybe most-impressive though, was that the game also brought turn-based RPG’s back into fashion. At the time, that was a genre had become something of an afterthought.

But as true as all of that might be though, and as big of a game as Baldur’s Gate III became, there was basically no merchandise for fans to collect. Well, for the legions of fans that the game still has, that last bit is about to change.

That’s because, as of today, Baldur’s Gate III has been revealed as joining Sideshow’s lineup. The mega-collectible company will be bringing fans a line of “collectibles and art prints” some time soon. And yes, as mentioned, all of it will be officially licensed.

Unfortunately, there’s nothing to show off just yet, though we do have some info on the first offering. That will apparently be a “collectible figure” of some kind, although we don’t know if said figure will be posed or articulated in nature. We have to imagine there’ll be some news sooner then later on that front though, since Sideshow has opened up an RSVP page for it in it’s online shop.

By heading there and adding their email address, fans can register their interest. After that, they’ll get a notice when the mystery item is ready for pre-order. Check that out here.
