Super Mario Odyssey is now the fastest-selling Mario title in the US

We told you that Super Mario Odyssey was selling well in the UK, and now it’s officially the fastest-selling Super Mario in the US.

Super Mario, take a bow. The Switch’s first Mario adventure is also one of the fastest-selling Nintendo titles ever. More than 1.1 million copies of the game have sold in the US alone, in a series of figures confirmed by Nintendo this week.

“The public continues to respond positively to Mario’s latest adventure,” said Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America’s President and COO. “We’re also seeing sales momentum for Nintendo Switch thanks to an ever-growing catalog of games from large publishers and indie developers.”

Building on top of that impressive number, Nintendo has announced that Odyssey is now the fastest-selling Super Mario game ever. For any Nintendo console. Let that sink in for a sec. It’s selling faster than the classics sure, but also newer stuff like the “New” series and the 3D World series… that’s impressive.

According to the company, it’s going to sell a bunch more too. Nintendo says that they are planning on having plenty of copies out there for gift buyers this Holiday Season. So if you’re picking up a Switch, or some games for your favorite Nintendo fan, keep an eye out. Apparently it won’t be too hard to find Super Mario Odyssey on store shelves.
