Duke 3D gets a multiplayer update from Devolver Digital

Yes, Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition has gotten an update. And yes, that’s kind of crazy.

Duke Nukem 3D was first released back in 1996 and here we are in 2014 with a new update for it. That’s just nuts, but it’s the kind of nuts that Devolver Digital is more than happy to be known for. The Hotline Miami publisher just took the wraps off of a multiplayer update for Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition.

Now a part of the ancient FPS is cross-platform multiplayer (I know right?!). The mode isn’t as simple as you might think either as it encompasses both co-op and versus play and can support up to 8 players. You might be scoffing at that but remember, this is an 18 year old game. And by that I mean that any update is pretty freakin’ awesome.

Oh, and the new modes work in all the original maps… and hundreds of the best user-created maps features on Steam Workshop. Yep.

Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition is available right now on Steam (and is currently 60% off). You can grab a copy here.
