Metal Slug Tactics takes the field for consoles and PC today

Arriving for both consoles and PC today, Metal Slug Tactics takes the iconic action title into the strategic realm.

Get tactical

It’s a big day for Metal Slug fans, as SNK’s side-scrolling action series makes the leap into a brand new genre. Of course that’d be strategy, but not to worry, as Metal Slug Tactics certainly looks like it’s set to hang onto the traditional look and feel of the series.

There’s reason for optimism too, as there’s a hefty pedigree at work since this new game comes from developer Leikir Studio, and publisher Dotemu. Game fans should know that latter name well, as the company has been a force in the retro-styled arena, behind games like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge and Streets of Rage 4.

From the looks of it too, Leikir is carrying that banner well, and as a result Metal Slug Tactics is looking great.

An homage to an all-time classic, Metal Slug Tactics is fueled with explosive arcade charm as it brings iconic METAL SLUG battles to tactical grid-based strategic gameplay. Get ready to drop in airstrikes, unleash powerful specials and outmaneuver your enemies in more than 20 mission types across 100 fully hand-drawn detailed maps. Perseverance is the key to victory for both newcomers and veterans alike. Learn valuable lessons from your previous runs and pave the path to hard-fought victory as you level up your skills, adapt your arsenal and refuse to back down in the ultimate tactical METAL SLUG adaptation.
