SDCC 20: Shout! Factory to take part in virtual con

Adding to the at-home fun (just go with it) is Shout! Factory. The video publisher will be offering a full slate of activities for those looking for a little con away from the con.

Shout! at home!

Look, there’s no denying it; an at-home version of SDCC isn’t anywhere as fun as the real thing. This year though, it’s a must as the con couldn’t even remotely have hoped to have been up and running this month. Not while the coronavirus is still busy making everyone’s life miserable.

So to that end, there’s Comic-Con@Home. A number of the usual attendees are taking part in this special remote version of the SDCC, and that includes Shout! Factory.

Purveyor of all things home video and niche, Shout! Factory will be putting on quite a show too. It all begins with a Mystery Science Theater 3000 panel presentation.

MSTies worldwide can tune into the Comic-Con@Home channel on Thursday, July 23 at 6 pm PT, for Mystery Science Theater 3000 – A Panel Panorama. Join Erik Adams (The AV Club) as he leads a discussion with MST3K creator Joel Hodgson and former cast members Bill Corbett (Crow T. Robot # 2) and J. Elvis Weinstein (Tom Servo # 1) as they engage in some good old-fashioned Q & A. To watch the panel, visit Comic-Con@Home’s official YouTube channel.

Shout! Factory

But that’s just the tip of the iceberg

Shout! also has a virtual booth tour on tap. There they’ll be able to see “pre-order pages for upcoming releases, introductions to Shout! Factory TV channels, Shout! Factory’s annual sale of Con-centric titles and a shopping spree contest in which three lucky winners will be picked.”

Still not enough? How about Shout! Stays In? From July 22 through the 26, you’ll be able to check out a ton of video content including:

  • Ultraman Leo
  • Kamen Rider
  • Super Sentai
  • Guardians
  • Rendel: Dark Vengeance
  • graphic novel documentaries such as The Image Revolution and Neil Gaiman: Dream Dangerously
  • Shout! Factory convention panels from years past
  • TokuSHOUTsu
  • MST3K
