Marsupilami 2 bringing more platforming action this fall

Microids and developer Ocellus Services has a fresh rhythmic adventure heading to consoles and the PC with Marsupilami 2 – Salsa Palombia.

Marsupilami!

It’s hard to read the name “Marsupilami” and not hear the classic cartoon theme song in your head. Well, it is for us anyway, though that’s not specifically what Marsupilami 2 – Salsa Palombia is based on. Instead of the 90s toon, this new game from Microids and Ocellus Services plays off of the original version of the property.

That, if you don’t know, spun out of André Franquin, way back in 1952. And since that date, the little creatures have appeared in just about every form of entertainment you could think of. That includes video games, of both the legacy and modern variety. That’s also where this particular game comes in, as Marsupilami 2 – Salsa Palombia is the followup to 2021’s MarsupilamiHoobadventure.

The title will offer a trio of Marsupilamis to field, in both solo action and co-op for two players. Whichever way that play, fans will tackle the threat of the Mummy Queen and her raucous rhythm. It seems that the vile villain has returned from the Land of the Dead with one mission; enrapture the minds of the local fauna, causing them to, well, kinda freak out.

The story mode won’t be the only action to get in on however. Along with the campaign, players will be able to dig into challenges dealt by the “Battle Dojos”, and “competitive minigames designed for friendly rivalries.” Along with all of that, the game is looking surprisingly sharp, with colorful graphics that range from the wilds of Palombia to city streets

A strange melody has swept across Palombia… and all the animals have suddenly started dancing, leaving chaos in their wake! The creature behind this crazy beat is none other than the Mummy Queen, back from the Land of the Dead with her minions to play a cursed concert with a calamitous crescendo.

Help Twister, Punch and Hope save Palombia from the Mummy Queen and her minions!

Microids press release

Marsupilami 2 – Salsa Palombia is heading to the PC, Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and Switch. Fans can look for it to launch on September 3rd, 2026. You’ll be able to play it much sooner though, via a new demo that just so happens to be available… right now. It should have been posted to all of the above platforms as of a few days ago.
