SDCC: DST decloaks its Bird of Prey

Diamond Select has a very cool (and very invisible!) exclusive in the works for next month’s San Diego Comic Con.

Hands down one of the most instantly recognizable ships to be featured in any Star Trek series or movie is the Klingon Bird of Prey. This ship saw many a battle with both Starfleet and the Romulan Empire across the franchise’s history and it’s become a real fan favorite.

DST already has a Bird of Prey replica out there, but the one that’ll be heading to the SDCC is very different from what’s currently on the market. Cast in clear plastic, the ‘cloaked’ Bird of Prey is the perfect representation of the classic small form factor starship on the prowl and hidden from prying sensor sweeps. This model has had all the electronics removed (so no lights and/or sounds) and is as invisible as anything can be.

Now as usual, if you want to get one of these for yourself, you’ll need to beam yourself over to the DST booth (#2607) as soon as you possibly can. There are only 200 of these being made and at $60 USD, you know they’re going to go fast.

About Jason Micciche

Jason's been knee deep in videogames since he was but a lad. Cutting his teeth on the pixely glory that was the Atari 2600, he's been hack'n'slashing and shoot'em'uping ever since. Mainly an FPS and action guy, Jason enjoys the occasional well crafted title from every genre.
