Spider-Man: Brand New Day coming to IMAX

Sony’s latest Marvel blockbuster is on the way to IMAX, as fans will be able to check out Spider-Man: Brand New Day this week.

It’s a Brand New Day for IMAX

It’s been a relatively calm summer as go the movies. Not to say that there haven’t been a few smash hits, as there have been, but a good chunk of the ‘spectacle’ stuff seems to be falling flat. That though, does not apply to the Web-Head.

Spider-Man‘s latest big budget flick from Sony is smashing through the box office at a prolific rate. As of this writing, it’s sitting at a global box office of about a billion USD, and a domestic take of somewhere around $360 million*. And now, if you needed any more of a push to see it again (or for the first time) it’s heading to IMAX.

Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into the massive-screened theaters starting this weekend, in both the US and Canada. The theaters say that fans should be able to catch the film in “the majority of IMAX locations throughout North America” as of August 6th, 2026.

It’s a BRAND NEW DAY for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him—and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him—sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control. But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves – a powerful villain no one can even see.

The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but he hasn’t forgotten them.

IMAX press release

Although Spider-Man: Brand New Day is coming to IMAX, another blockbuster is sticking around. According to the press release, fans looking to attend The Odyssey will still be able to. Director Christopher Nolan’s latest epic (which has also done quite well for itself this summer) will be showing in the format, playing “across all 41 IMAX 70mm Film locations worldwide.”

Tickets for both films, plus more, are available now via IMAX’ website here.
