Battlefield 4 revealed in 17 minutes of glorious gameplay

EA and DICE unveiled the next generation of Battlefield with a 17 minute long gameplay video. Spoiler: it’s pretty.

The trailer is titled ‘Fishing in Baku’ and it shows off some of the best looking FPS gameplay that I’ve seen of what the next generation of gaming has to offer, all running on the Frostbite 3 engine.

I have to admit, even as someone who’s getting mighty tired of ‘military shooters’, that was amazing looking. Everything from the surroundings to the facial animation was sharp and full of detail. If Battlefield 4 is what we, as gamers, have to look forward to with the PS4 and neXtbox, then you can mark me down as excited for the next gen.

Probably not all that surprising is that you can preorder yourself a copy of Battlefield 4 right now at select retailers. If you do, you’ll also be getting a Premium expansion pack for the game at no cost to you- just a little freebie ‘thank you’ for ordering early.

EA also announced today that there’ll be a Digital Deluxe Edition of the game that’ll be made available on Origin, the company’s digital distribution service. That version of the game will come complete with bonuses, the Premium pack available elsewhere, and access to the exclusive multiplayer beta.

About Jason Micciche

Jason's been knee deep in videogames since he was but a lad. Cutting his teeth on the pixely glory that was the Atari 2600, he's been hack'n'slashing and shoot'em'uping ever since. Mainly an FPS and action guy, Jason enjoys the occasional well crafted title from every genre.
