The Warhammer Skulls Showcase rolls out a highly anticipated sequel with the (PC) demo and a new trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2.
Boltgun is back
He’s back. Malum Caedo, the unstoppable Ultramarine from the retro first-person shooter Warhammer: Boltgun is back in action. He’s ready to slay the forces of Chaos once again, in merciless fashion, though this time he’s not a solo act. Joining the crusade is one Nyra Veyrath, a Sister of Battle. Both heroes are playable in Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2, and fans got a fresh look at that game today.
Said sneak peek came via a trailer unleashed at the Steam-hosted Warhammer Skulls Showcase. And if you were looking for content, it was pretty packed. In it, both Caedo and Veyrath put their arsenals to good use, plus fans got a look at both returning and debuting foes.
Check out the latest from Big Fan Games and Auroch Digital’s Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 below.
Picking up where you left off at the end of the original and best-selling Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun, Boltgun 2 takes you to all-new locations in a branching, single-player campaign with more guns, more enemies, more exploration and more of, well, everything.

Dive into the PC edition’s demo today
Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 is scheduled to arrive on consoles and the PC later this year. But way before we get to that release date, you can try your hand at the game via a demo. And by “way before we get to that release date”, we mean today.
In a surprise move, Big Fan Digital has unwrapped the PC demo for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2. That gives fans the chance to take on the role of either Caedo or Veyrath, and lay siege to a pair of settings, each one loaded with Chaos filth.
Players will start off assaulting the “perilous wilds of a Death World”. There they’ll find an overgrown swamp that’s packed with Nurgle’s worst. From there, it’s off to a frozen Militarium facility that’s seen better days. There fans will engage the sequel’s debuting Khorne army.
According to the press release, you can expect to wield some of Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 new weapons in this early and playable look as well. Those will reportedly differ on which character you choose to play as too. On top of that, both stars will also offer “their own unique weapons, abilities and playstyles”, so there’s a bit of replayability included here.
