Preview: Take an early look at the horror of Bloodborne: Lady of the Lanterns

Bloodborne returns to the printed page for a brand new comics series from Titan Comics. Check out the first pages of Bloodborne: Lady of the Lanterns.

That’s some kinda monster

With a title like “Lady of the Lanterns”, you might have a certain spectral image in your mind. You might even be picturing a somewhat ‘Lady of the Lake’ type of Celtic elemental. But before you get too wrapped up in that, remember that this is Bloodborne that we’re talking about. And Bloodborne tended to feature some pretty horrific beasts.

One look at the cover of issue #1 of this new comics series reaffirm that. Titan Comics’ latest, the inaugural issue of Bloodborne: Lady of the Lanterns #1 has a seriously demented creature within its pages.

But while it’s adorning several of the covers that’ll become available with the book, you won’t find it lurking in this preview. Titan’s first (lettered) look at the issue sets the stage with the opening pages, and they are most definitely sans demonic freak.

Nevertheless, you can see where horror writer Cullen Bunn will be taking the action, and the stage it’l be playing out on.

In this brand-new comic series, written by Cullen Bunn (THE SIXTH GUN, WOLVERINE, SPIDER-MAN: SEASON ONE), with art by Piotr Kowalski (Image Comics’ SEX) and colorist Brad Simpson, new hunters take to the streets to fight against the cruel and unusual epidemic that has gripped the city.

As you can see in the interior art preview, in the black of the night, families and faith will be tested…

Titan Comics press release

Bloodborne: Lady of the Lanterns #1 will hit the racks on July 27th, 2022.
