First full trailer for Dreamworks’ Voltron is go!

Get ready, if you’re a Voltron fan you’re going to dig what Dreamworks and Netflix are cooking up.

Have some chills? Reveling in the 80s nostalgia that’s rampant in that little gem of a video? I thought you might be. Completely faithful to the original series, but with some excellent modern twists (including a streamlined Voltron), Dreamworks’ new Voltron series is looking all kinds of golden – even the animation seems to be a throwback nod to the original.

Exclusively made for Netflix, the new show is a hard reboot, starting the legend of the Galactic Defender over from the start. And yes, that certainly seems to mean everything that you’d think; an origin story, Princess Allura, the evil King Zarkon (and I assume his son as well), and five badass robot lions.

Since this is a Netflix show too, you can expect to binge watch the whole first season the day it’s released. In all, you’ll get ten 30 minute episodes plus a one-hour origin movie, for a total of six hours of Voltron goodness. And if you didn’t watch the trailer above, that magical date that you can expect to finally take all of this in is Friday, June the 10th. Have fun.
