The original Hitman trilogy getting remastered

IO Interactive’s classic trilogy is about to get a fresh remastering, as Saber Interactive reveals Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered.

Agent 47 is back in the original Hitman trilogy

We all know that developer IO Interactive has (at least temporarily) moved on to other things, but that doesn’t mean that the company has forgotten about Hitman. Far from it actually, as IOI’s first set of smash hits is about to get remastered.

Publisher Saber Interactive broke that news just a few days ago, revealing Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered. As you might imagine, the bundle will include the original game in the series, plus Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, and Hitman: Contracts. As mentioned though, all of the above will be new and improved.

To that end, fans can look for “enhanced visuals, an instant graphics toggle, Photo Mode and more!” Not that you’ll any of that on display in the first trailer. This is a teaser in the truest sense, though probably still worth checking out if you’re a big fan of the deadly assassin.

Discover the origins of the world’s deadliest assassin with the trilogy that defined the Hitman series, remastered for modern platforms while preserving the systems, tone and player-driven freedom that made the franchise iconic. Whether you’re reliving these thrilling contracts or suiting up for the first time, Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered is the definitive way to experience the beginnings of Agent 47. With multiple paths and puzzles in every mission, you’ll be free to employ a diverse set of tools to fulfill each contract.

Remember: the world is your weapon!

Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered is heading to the XBOX Series X|S, PS5, and PC (via Steam) some time in 2027.

Options and upgrades

While there isn’t much to see in that trailer, Saber Interactive let the facts otherwise flow. So if you are looking forward to grabbing this new collection, we’ve got some features and upgrades to talk about. It’s pretty much all what you’d expect to see, though a photo mode is somewhat unexpected. That should make for some interesting… shots.

Scroll down to take a look at the official word, as to what’ll be included in the bundle.

  • Faithfully Restored Visuals: Experience the original trilogy with upgraded character models, enhanced environments, and high-resolution textures.
  • Photo Mode: Capture and share your missions with a dedicated photo mode. Frame Agent 47 in action or explore environments in detail.
  • Instant Graphics Toggle: Switch seamlessly between the original and enhanced visuals. Play the games as you remember them or rediscover them in a modern light.
  • The World Is Your Weapon: Use stealth, tactics, disguises, and the environment itself to infiltrate, execute, and escape. Every mission offers multiple paths, and every decision carries risks.
  • Master the Art of the Kill: Plan your approach, adapt when things go wrong, and complete your objectives with precision. Success depends as much on observation and timing as it does on execution.
  • Three Games. One Evolution: Experience the progression of Hitman’s design, from open-ended experimentation, to refined stealth systems, to a darker, more psychological tone.
  • Play Your Way: Disguise yourself, improvise solutions, and turn mistakes into opportunities. No two approaches are the same, and few plans survive unchanged.
