Jurassic World Evolution 3 expands this month with Rebirth

Dino park builders are about to have a fresh expansion to play with. Jurassic World Evolution 3: Rebirth Expansion launches this month.

Welcome, to Jurassic World… Rebirth

Fairly quietly, we feel like Frontier Developments’ Jurassic World Evolution series has produced some of the best games under the franchise to date. In those games, fans can build their enclosures, tackle challenges, and of course house some dinosaurs. The series has since rolled on into its third outing, but it’s not stopping there.

Just revealed, Jurassic World Evolution 3: Rebirth Expansion will do just what the name implies. That’s to mean that the downloadable content will bring the base game up to speed with events taking place just before the Rebirth film. And yes, that includes the freakish Distortus Rex. Not that the big creep’s all though, as Jurassic World Evolution 3: Rebirth Expansion will build out the roster of dinosaurs even further.

Players can look for three more thunder lizards to be included, with the Mutadon, Aquilops, and Titanosaurus. Also keeping in line with the film, the pack will update some existing dinos with fresh models and skins. Look for the adult T-Rex, Spinosaurus, Mosasaurus, Quetzalcoatlus, Dilophosaurus, and Velociraptor to get updates on that end.

Île Saint-Hubert’s Main Facility, Ancient Valley, and Riverside Lab each offer unique challenges, designs, and, for the first time, allow players to harness geothermal energy. Site Managers will come face to face with four new species: the fearsome Mutadon, inquisitive Aquilops, towering Titanosaurus and the daunting Distortus rex. Joining these new species are authentic models and skins for the adult T. rex, Spinosaurus, Mosasaurus, Quetzalcoatlus, Dilophosaurus and Velociraptor.

Frontier Developments press release

Time to experiment

While the trailer is looking sharp, there’s a handful of additional news and notes that weren’t included. One of the coolest, for us anyway, might be the debut of open-air aviaries. Those could present some awesome opportunities.

That’s not all though, as there’ll also be “Assignments”, which Frontier says will present “a new way to progress”. Basically, think priority assignments that’ll further the story, and optional ones that’ll include cool stuff like the ability to unlock “new genomes, experimental traits, and research opportunities”.

And finally, there are “experimental traits”, which sound like they’ll be play right off of the events in the film. Under that heading, players can actually “enhance a species’ biological characteristics”. Naturally, we’re sure nothing could possibly go wrong with that.

Ready to head back to the lab? Jurassic World Evolution 3: Rebirth Expansion arrives to build out the base game even more, on June 16th, 2026. Look for it to be available for the PS5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC versions of the game.
