Something terrifying is coming this summer. That’d be The 7th Guest Remake, which has an official launch date this June.
The 7th Guest returns
We first told you about the remake of classic PC title The 7th Guest only about a month ago. The game will hail from Vertigo Games, the developer behind Metro Awakening and Arizona Sunshine, though The 7th Guest is very different from either of those. Actually, it’s sounding like a fair shake different than the game it remakes too.
Not a straight ‘shot for shot’ recreation, The 7th Guest Remake is prepped to venture into fresh ground. According to the press release, the horror adventure will feature “reimagined puzzles, newly realized environments, and newly recorded volumetric video performances”.
Getting a little deeper, fans will be able to look for “carefully redesigned” puzzles aplenty. Vertigo Games says those will be “rooted in the mansion’s lore”, and tied in with the story. Not to worry though, if you remember the original game fondly. On that note, the developer adds that the gameplay will have “recognizable elements”, and “pay homage to the original”.
All in all, The 7th Guest Remake is looking like an intriguingly summertime supernatural redux. Take a look at the latest trailer for the newest peek at it in action, as well as that release date reveal.
Six guests arrive at a foreboding mansion, but something sinister is at play. The wealthy recluse and toymaker Henry Stauf lurks in the shadows, and a dark power hangs over the house, shrouded in mystery. Who is the seventh guest? What does Henry want with them? And who will live to tell the tale?
As players explore the eerie mansion, the puzzles grow increasingly challenging, with dangers lurking around every corner. Every shadow, distant creak, and flicker of light builds tension as the house slowly reveals its secrets.
The 7th Guest Remake is the ultimate mystery adventure for players who love mind-bending puzzles, haunting exploration, and a chilling story.
Vertigo Games press release
The 7th Guest Remake comes to the PC (via Steam and Epic), PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on June 4th, 2026. Switch players will get their chance to pick up this reborn classic as well, though not until some time later this year.
More ghost for your buck
Yes, The 7th Guest Remake has a release date, but there’s a little something else to report as well. And this one’s for those who just can’t get enough full-motion haunting.
Those who own a copy of The 7th Guest VR for Steam or PlayStation, can get the upcoming Remake for free. How’s that for a bonus? Billed as a “a cross-access offer for players across platforms”, players who have the aforementioned can get the newer game gratis, for Steam or PS5.

Even better, is that the deal also rolls the other way. So if you buy a copy of The 7th Guest Remake at launch, you’ll “gain free access” to the VR game. That said, we’re not entirely sure how claiming the game (either way) will work. So make sure to keep your eyes open for more info.
One more notable thing as well, is that the press releases specifically states “at launch”, in reference to the deal. And no, we’re not sure just how long a period that might be. So that’s just something to keep in mind, if you’re planning on diving in.
