Hot Toys delves into Wolverine’s past with Weapon X

Diving back into the pages of Marvel’s comics universe is Hot Toys, as the toy-maker reveals its take on Weapon X.

Before Wolverine, there was Weapon X

Any Wolverine fan knows the ins and outs of the mutant hero’s past by now. Maybe the biggest and most impactful of Marvel’s explorations of his past though, was Weapon X. Mentioned in Wolverine’s very first appearance, Weapon X got a full detailing in the pages of Marvel Comics Presents (remember that?).

If you need a refresher, that happened back in 1991, telling the story of Wolverine first got his indestructible skeleton and claws. Impressively too, comics phenom Barry Windsor-Smith crafted said tale all by himself. Windsor-Smith not only drew it, but he wrote and colored the (at the time) definitive look at Logan before he became Wolverine.

In the decades since, that version of the character has appeared in movies and animation, and has gotten a whole bunch of action figure adaptations. Now it’s high-end toy-maker Hot Toys turn, with a full 12″ collectible figure. Retailer Sideshow took the wraps off of that very item late last week, and it’s looking pretty slick.

In a great twist, the figure will feature a metal skeleton (sounds familiar…) with silicon skin over it. That means limited joints, which is kind of important for a figure that’s not really wearing much. Though, we should also mention that that doesn’t mean he won’t come loaded.

Aside from his shorts, Weapon X will also include the full slate of gear that you’d expect. And yes, that’s including his iconic training helmet.

What he does isn’t very nice
