Dark Horse bringing the art of Far Cry: Blood Dragon’s Captain Laserhawk to shelves this fall

Fans of art books take note, this could be a cool one. Captain Laserhawk: Blood Dragon Remix—The Art of The Animated Series is coming up.

Guess who’s back

Joining Dark Horse Books’ already impressive stable of art tomes is a video game-related spinoff that kind of came out of nowhere earlier this year. While most first-person shooter fans probably have some familiarity with the Far Cry: Blood Dragon universe, Ubisoft’s Captain Laserhawk was probably still a bit of a ‘huh’ moment.

As you can tell from the title of this article though, the upcoming Netflix show will be the subject for Dark Horse’s new art book, Captain Laserhawk: Blood Dragon Remix—The Art of The Animated Series. Dark Horse says that fans will “discover the development of the hyper-meta series through a collection of exuberant concept art, intimate creator commentary and a look inside the studio.”

And if you have no idea what Captain Laserhawk is, well just scroll down and check the synopsis.

The animated series, Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix is set in an alternate reality in the dark future of 1992, where the country formerly known as the USA is now called Eden—a technocracy ruled by propaganda and corruption. Super-soldier Dolph Laserhawk has just been betrayed by the love of his life and locked up in Eden’s top-security prison, Supermaxx. He must now lead a team of rebel outcasts on risky undercover missions in order to survive.

Dark Horse press release

Presented in hardcover format, Captain Laserhawk: Blood Dragon Remix—The Art of The Animated Series is expected to hit retail on October 24th, 2023.
