Ripped from the 90s, Terminal Velocity: Boosted Edition is jetting for consoles

Originally released in the 90s, Terminal Velocity has seen a nice comeback. And now the sci-fi, combat-heavy flight-sim is branching out.

Boostin’

Technically already out on consoles, Terminal Velocity is available now on the PC and the Nintendo Switch. But Ziggurat Interactive isn’t content with just one console, and will be bringing the classic dogfighter to Xbox and PlayStation platforms next month.

The new editions of the game will star full widescreen support, as well as smoothed out frame rates, 360 degree audio effects, and “carefully curated” analog controls. All of that will bring developer Terminal Reality’s 1995 shooter to life once again, and for two (four?) brand new audiences.

Here’s a look at it:

Unlike most other flight simulators, Terminal Velocity™ is all about combat. With low inertia flight mechanics that allow players to bank, roll, and loop easily across treacherous maps and a straightforward control layout, they’ll be thrust bow-first right into the action.

To maintain their aerial superiority, they’ll have access to an arsenal of weaponry and several game-changing power-ups to conquer deadly enemy fighters in the air and on the ground. They’ll feel the ultimate power of flight as they take to the skies and soar through alien environments and show off their aerial skills through dozens of tight tunnels and underground caverns. It’s all about action, speed, and destruction!

Ziggurat Interactive press release

Terminal Velocity promises massive 400k square mile playgrounds, 27 of them to be exact. Those levels are spread out across alien worlds which apparently are all trying to actively knock you out of the sky too. Oh, and don’t expect defensive maneuvers in this one. It sounds like Terminal Velocity is all about action, action, and more action.

Complete with full Achievement and trophy support, watch for Terminal Velocity to speed onto Xbox and PlayStation platforms on June 7th, 2023. And again, if you just can’t wait, it’s also out right now for the Switch and PC (via Steam, GOG, and Epic).
