Predator makes Marvel debut later this year, gets slate of variant covers

The sci-fi and horror icon that is the Predator is coming to Marvel this year. To celebrate, the publishing giant will have a special slate of covers hitting.

(clicking noise)

Joining the cadre of characters that’ve been making the jump from Dark Horse to Marvel is the Predator. The classic movie monster is a huge get for Marvel. After all, he might be a bigger comics star than he’s ever been in film… well as long as you don’t count the original that is.

And that rich history is now giving way to a Marvel Age for the alien hunter, though in what way is a bit of a mystery. It’s seemed like Predator will be a part of the Marvel Universe before, though it’s hazy at best. He might just be a standalone property, existing alongside Marvel’s slate of superhero books. Then again, I thought that with Conan, so…

In any event, he’s coming up, and that means Marvel will be capitalizing. Expect to see a slate of variant covers to celebrate Predator’s arrival, including on books like Amazing Spider-Man, Miles Morales, and Fantastic Four.

Here’s a sneak peek:

No matter how you might feel about Predator potentially joining the 616, you have admit there’s some cool stuff here. Personally, I think that Miles cover is the winner in the cool department, but maybe that’s just me.

As for when you’ll be able to find all of these bad boys on store shelves, all the pertinent info is below.
