Xbox 20/20 announced, will update fans monthly

Microsoft has announced a new initiative called Xbox 20/20. The series of videos will update fans on the Series X and more on a monthly basis.

Xbox Direct

So, more or less, this is a kind of ‘Nintendo Direct-like’ video series that Microsoft has announced. Where it does differ from Nintendo’s continuing series of updates though, is that Microsoft’s 20/20 will be delivered on a set basis.

It’s also limited in scope, for now anyway. The series of updates will come on a monthly basis through the end of this year, though I assume that could expand if it proves popular enough.

So what’s included in these talks? Well…

“These monthly moments will take place throughout the rest of the year and will be a way for us to engage, connect and celebrate with you about what’s in store for the next generation of gaming, including what’s next for Xbox Series X, Xbox Game Studios, Xbox Game Pass and Project xCloud. Every month will bring something different. Stay tuned to Xbox Wire for more details.”

Xbox 20/20 kicks off tomorrow, May 7th, and will showcase the Series X’s third-party games. Both Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Cyberpunk 2077 will be included, so if you’re looking forward to either of those, you’ll want to check this out.

According to industry site MCV, June’s 20/20 is a mystery, but we already have an idea as to what July will bring. That episode will focus it’s content on Microsoft Game Studios. Expect “first looks” at gameplay, as well as news on optimization and some new game announcements.
