New trailer details the character classes of Daedalic’s Blackguards

Have a look at the first video guide for the underhanded, dirty-dealing RPG/strategy title- Blackguards.

Based in the world of the Dark Eye, which is actually the single most successful pen and paper RPG system in Europe, Blackguards takes the complex role-playing system of the original tabletop game and streamlines it to welcome in a new video game-playing audience.

Fans of the original shouldn’t worry about the game loosing its flair though, since Daedalic has worked in a ton of the most recognizable elements of the Dark Eye. Classic level-ups and battle rewards called Adventure Points will be present and accounted for. AP’s, if you’re unfamiliar, are your experience points and can be used to upgrade your character’s agility, spells and courage through the game’s quest.

Daedalic has also announced that they’ve gotten some feedback from Blackguard’s Steam Early Access players and will be enabling a character-creation feature right from the game’s launch- something that the Early Access version lacked. So far, that version (which you can play right now) includes the first four chapters of what will be the final version of the game.

You won’t have to actually wait all that much longer to play the full version of Blackguards though since the retail release launches on Steam on the 24th (that’s this Friday) for both eh Mac and PC for $39.99 USD and $59.99 USD for the Collector’s Edition.
