New Mirror of Fate trailer tells the story of Simon Belmont

The original Castlevania hero demands answers in the new trailer for the 3DS exclusive Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate.

Mirror of Fate takes place 25 years after the end of the first Lords of Shadow title on consoles. Simon, son of Gabriel, sets off on a quest for vengeance after loosing his parents to the evil forces of the dark lord at the age of 6.

Simon carries a shard of a magical mirror into battle (that’s what you see glinting in the trailer) and is somehow linked to Gabriel’s lost battlecross that lies deep within castle Dracula.

The revamped (pardon the pun) Castlevania timeline has been a winner so far and Mirror of Fate looks like it won’t disappoint fans of the Lords of Shadow universe. The game also leads in nicely to the forthcoming Lords of Shadow 2, which is due soon.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate stakes the Nintendo 3DS on March 5th.
