Guardians of Knowhere joins the fight on Marvel’s Battleworld

To be more accurate, the Guardians of Knowhere join Battleworld… in synchronous orbit. Saved from the collapsing Marvel U, the head of a dead Celestial serves as home to some very bad people and a new team of Guardians.

High above Battleworld floats the head of a dead Celestial, miraculously saved in the collapse of a universe. Now orbiting Battleworld as its solitary moon, Knowhere survives as a colony brimming with convicts and criminals. Yet amid this wretched hive of killers, thieves and thugs – there is hope. People who will stand and defend those within who cannot defend themselves – the Guardians of Knowhere!

But mysteries abound in this head of a dead God. Suspended thousands of miles above Battleworld, a dangerous new foe stalks the alleys and corridors of this floating fortress. One who has set his crosshairs directly on the Guardians of Knowhere! Who is this new foe and what are they after? You’ll have to wait until June to find out. One thing is for certain – not everyone will walk out of Knowhere alive. Don’t miss one moment of the pulse-pounding action when GUARDIANS OF KNOWHERE #1 comes to comic shops and digital devices this June!

Interestingly enough, it looks like Star Lord and Groot are set to be absent from this one, if the cover is anything to go by. Taking their place? Angela, the assassin from Asgard. Her inclusion makes this variation on the usual GotG formula all that much more interesting since she certainly adds another dimension of ‘cosmic’ to the proceedings.

Just what those events are is something that’s not quite clear as of yet. There are definitely going to be some bad guys for the new team to fight, that’s for sure. Who they are and what that means could literally be anything since Battleworld, and Secret Wars itself as an event, includes a myriad of different Marvel character from not only the standard Marvel Universe, but tons of others.

Starring a very unique portion of Battleworld (it is the sole ‘moon’ after all), Guardians of Knowhere #1 hits stands this June from the team of Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato.
