Episode 6 of From the Ward takes Call of Duty to Fanatics Fest

If you’re a first-person shooter fan, and specifically a Call of Duty fan, then you know this release calendar has been an interesting one. The upcoming release, which will be a fourth Modern Warfare title, looks sharp in a few ways.

The campaign is definitely a part of that, as it once again includes the likes of Price and Ghost. It also stars a wholly new theater of war, with a 21st century Korean conflict. Right there with that though, is a multiplayer suite that looks more interesting than it has in a while.

While the series has had its fans throughout its entire run, this new title actually looks like a return to form. By that, we mean that it’s (so far) sans any kind of celebrities or wackiness. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4‘s multiplayer is looking like it might be an answer to fan feedback, and if so, that’d be a very good thing indeed.

One of the new additions too, is Kill Block. A fresh multiplayer mode, Kill Block features a battleground that can move and shift, in high-tech fashion. From what we understand, this doesn’t happen in-game, but is a narrative element behind the mode itself.

As it happens, it was also the star of the game’s appearance at NY’s Fanatics Fest last month. The crew from developer Infinity Ward took the game to the con in what looks to be grand style. That included an early look at the title in action, as well as a ridiculously cool booth.

Hyped? Well, hang on, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 lands on the XBOX Series X|S, PS5, Switch 2, and PC on October 23rd, 2026. Pre-orders are open now, and placing one will get you playing (the campaign) a week early, on October 16th.
