Marvel’s Wolverine to get art book from Dark Horse

The PS5’s upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine is set to get an artistic exploration, thanks to an art book from Dark Horse.

Wolverine goes hardcover

By now everyone who’s interested in Insomniac’s latest superhero spectacle is likely targeting September 15th, 2026. That’s the date when Marvel’s Wolverine is exclusively heading to the PlayStation 5, for a battle against foes both mutant and technological.

The game has been a long time coming, and we mean a long time. Believe it or not, it was first announced back in 2021. Development was so lengthy that there was even online chatter that it’d been scrapped. But as fans have seen, that’s most definitely not the case. Far from it actually, as Marvel’s Wolverine finally broke loose at the most recent State of Play.

Slinging Logan into brutal action, Marvel’s Wolverine looks like it’ll be pitting players against a horde of classic X-foes. Those include villains like Omega Red and the Reavers. If you’re unfamiliar with the latter, the cyber-villains have not only been featured in Marvel comics for decades, but were also seen in the Logan movie. And, for now anyway, it seems like they’ll make up the bulk of the enemy forces that players will face.

As of today too, there’s a bit more to look forward to, especially for those who keep video game libraries. And no, we’re not referring to physical games. An art book has just been revealed by publisher Dark Horse, and it’s en route for release just after the game.

The publisher is following up on its visual Spider-Man 2 exploration with this new book, which is set to drop about a month and a half after the game.

Logan steps into the spotlight in Marvel’s Wolverine, the new action-adventure video game from Insomniac Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment in collaboration with Marvel Games. Fans play as Wolverine in an original story, testing his mettle against familiar opponents like the mutant-hunting Sentinels, the vengeful Omega Red, and the shapeshifting Mystique. In his globetrotting escapades, enemies new and old will demand everything of his animalistic instincts, his healing factor, and his savage, formidable adamantium claws. In Marvel’s Wolverine: The Art of the Game, explore the making of concept art, designs, and locales from the frosted Canadian wilderness to the bustling city of Tokyo, the remote island of Madripoor, and beyond!

“Having the opportunity to be taken behind the scenes by the Marvel Games and Insomniac teams was a dream come true,” said Forbes-Calvin. “Their shared vision for Marvel’s Wolverine, the world and characters for this game is a unique and fresh twist on the faces and places that fans know and love, and I can’t wait for fans to learn more about how this was all created.”

Dark Horse press release

Promising “never-before-seen details”, Marvel’s Wolverine: The Art of the Game is set to hit stores on November 3rd, 2026. Priced in at $54.99 USD, fans can expect the title run some 208 pages, and be presented in hardcover format. Pre-orders are open now.
