OmniTower is under siege in RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business, the standalone expansion to one of 2023’s best surprises.
Get ready for some serious firepower
We’re pretty sure it isn’t a stretch to say that RoboCop: Rogue City brought one of the very best kinds of surprises when it launched on consoles and the PC back in late 2023. From NACON and developer Teyon, the FPS brought Robo back to life with an incredible attention to detail, and with maximum respect to the original films.
And while we have yet to hear about a full sequel, there is a brand new standalone expansion for Rogue City that’s looking like it might fit the bill in the meantime. That, as you probably know, is Unfinished Business, which sends RoboCop into the massive residential skyscraper called OmniTower, as he hunts down some dangerous mercenaries that’ve set up shop.
But as we’ve seen in today’s overview trailer, this expansion is packing some surprises of its own, including finishing moves, a new weapon, and a playable ED-209.
With more than a million players patrolling Detroit’s streets, RoboCop: Rogue City earned praise for honouring one of cinema’s most iconic lawmen – the legendary part man, part machine, all cop hero. With RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business, players can expect an even more intense experience and deeper immersion, featuring brutal, gory action like never before, to the delight of fans of the franchise and FPS enthusiasts alike.
For the first time in a video game set in the RoboCop universe, RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business lets players step into the shoes of Alex Murphy before his transformation into the robotic enforcer we all know. During a special mission, players will also get to take control of ED-209, the heavily armed droid, and dive into a true trial by fire against waves of human and robotic enemies.
As they ascend the tower, players will face new threats such as flying drones, heavily armoured squads, jetpack-equipped enemies, and katana-wielding cyborgs. To fight back, players can get their hands on new weapons like the Cryo Cannon – capable of freezing enemies in a violent burst of icy blast. And if an enemy gets too close, players can now execute devastating finishing moves – like crushing an enemy’s skull against the nearest vending machine.
NACON press release
RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business is set to hit for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on July 17th. Fans playing on a Mac will be getting the title as well, but at a later date.
