The reboot for classic action/horror series Alone in the Dark is a few months off, and THQ Nordic has revealed the newest look at it.
So… where is Jeremy anyway?
Entitled “Looking for Jeremy”, the new trailer for Alone in the Dark might be short, but it still reveals quite a bit. THQ Nordic is calling this upcoming reboot a “love letter” to the original, and it’s easy to see why, as the game looks to be beautifully atmospheric, and feature equal parts detective work and monster-killing. Surprisingly too, it will actually play differently depending on who you choose to play as.
Starring actor David Harbour as original AitD hero Edward Carnby and Jodie Comer as Emily Hartwood, fans will plunge into an investigation inside the enigmatic Derceto Manor. It’s there that they’ll come face to face with Lovecraftian horrors, and a cadre of characters who can help or hinder their investigation.
Picking Carnby or Hartwood is more than a superficial option too, as situations might play out differently depending on who’s faced with them.
Alone in the Dark is a love letter to the ground-breaking original, allowing players to experience a haunting story through the eyes of one of the two protagonists: play as Edward Carnby, portrayed by David Harbour (Stranger Things, Hellboy), or Emily Hartwood, portrayed by Jodie Comer (Free Guy, Killing Eve) in this reimagined classic survival horror game, where Psychological Horror meets Southern Gothic. Explore your surroundings, battle monsters, solve puzzles, and uncover the unsettling truth of Derceto Manor.
The compelling story by Mikael Hedberg (SOMA, Amnesia: The Dark Descent), the exceptional monster design by legendary Guillermo del Toro collaborator Guy Davis, and the haunting Doom Jazz melodies by legend Jason Köhnen come together to create a chilling and atmospheric survival horror experience.
