NYCC 23: IDW Publishing heading to Artist Alley, will have Star Trek and TMNT panels

Comic book publisher IDW’s booth is going to be a little different at this coming NYCC, taking residence in Artist Alley.

Hitting the tables

Typically, comic book publishers tend to have their booths on the main floors of conventions, mixed in with all of the TV, movie, and toy companies. That’s not going to be the case at next month’s NYCC though, as goes one of the biggest independent publishers in the nation.

Instead of getting crowded in with everyone else, IDW will be heading to Artist Alley. If you somehow don’t know what that is, it’s the meeting and greeting place for fans to say ‘hi’ and sometimes even get work done by comics artists (obviously).

IDW will be present there, at booth #HB905, with a roster of both artists and writers, headed up by the likes of “Kevin Eastman, G. Willow Wilson, Scott Snyder, and many more”. There fans will be able to check out the artists on hand while they sketch, as well as take part in giveaways, take part in photo ops, and even get their own work checked out. Yep, portfolio reviews will be in the house, and if you’re interested, make sure to stay tuned for more info.

“I really think Artist Alley is the heart of any convention. It’s where I spent all my time at shows as a fan and then when I started my professional career in comics whenever I wasn’t working at the booth and I had free time I was always in Artist Alley. Talking with talent who I work with, scouting for new talent, seeing what the fans are gravitating towards… it’s the place to be. It’s also great for fans because they can have easy access to all of the creators who they want to see plus see all the great books IDW has to offer, go to our signings, and get con exclusives!”
