Here’s your first look at the upcoming Evil Dead: The Game

Multiplayer co-op just got a lot more horrifying. The iconic Evil Dead series is about to make the jump back to gaming with Evil Dead: The Game.

Name’s Ash…

It’s been a while since Evil Dead video game consoles and PC’s. The last game to hold the license was Fistful of Boomstick, which was almost 20 years ago, in 2003.

This new game though, is very different from that one, and just about every other Evil Dead tie-in. That’s because it’s a multiplayer only affair, that features both co-op play and asymmetrical versus action.

Yes, you can play as actor Bruce Campbell’s Ash too, and the hero comes complete with all new voice work from the man himself. But there’s much more, as you can also play as “Kelly Maxwell, Pablo Simon Bolivar, Scotty, Lord Arthur and more”. That “and more” includes Cheryl Williams and Henry the Red, by the way. Yep, this is an Evil Dead that truly covers the whole of the series, including Army of Darkness.

Locales will includes the Knowby Cabin (of course), but Saber Interactive is promising that you’ll see more “memorable sights from the franchise”. The game will boast a skill tree for upgrading your character, as well as a nice arsenal as well. Look for “Ash’s Gauntlet, Boomstick, and chainsaw”, as well as 22 other items.

Here’s the first look trailer:

Inspired by the iconic horror, humor, and action of the “Evil Dead” universe, Evil Dead: The Game brings the biggest characters from the franchise together in an over-the-top, gore-filled experience against the forces of darkness. Work as a team of four survivors, including Ash, Kelly Maxwell, Pablo Simon Bolivar, Scotty, Lord Arthur and more, to fight the Deadites and banish the vile Kandarian Demon. Or become the mighty Demon yourself, using your powers of possession to stop the good guys dead and swallow their souls!

Saber Interactive

No release date just yet for Evil Dead: The Game, but you can expect to see it dawn before the end of the year for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC.
