The next Xbox revealed with sequel to Hellblade

The successor to the Xbox One will look more like a small PC than a video game console, and has its first game announcement with Hellblade 2.

Introducing the Series X

Powering your dreams? Maybe so, with the amount of power that Microsoft is promising the next Xbox will pack. For some time now, we’ve heard about “Scarlett”, and how Microsoft’s next console will up the ante, and now we have more details. At least, we do about the looks and the release date.

Revealed at the The Game Awards last night, we now know that the next Xbox will be a radical departure in terms of visual presentation. It looks more like a little PC than a video game console. Make of that what you like.

Personally, and this is just me, I really dig this new look. It breaks the mold of the ‘home console’ similarly to what Nintendo did with the Switch, though in a different way obviously. I’m all for it. While some have said that it might flat-out not fit in some entertainment centers, I don’t have an issue with it. This puppy is going right next to my TV.

As you can see, we also got a release window announcement. Although there’s no date yet, we know that the Series X will be on store shelves to battle it out against the PS5 as of Holiday 2020.

Before you ask though, pre-orders are not live yet. I wouldn’t expect them for a little while either, as I’m sure way more will be said about the new console come E3 in June.

One other thing that Microsoft unveiled last night was a game for the Series X. The first sequel to Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is coming.

Check out Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II.
