Hellblade to get physical console edition, hitting this Holiday

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is finally getting a physical release. The acclaimed title will land on store shelves this December for PS4 and Xbox One.

Sacrifice

Looks just as great today as it did when it was originally released, last year. There’s no denying that Ninja Theory crafted one gorgeous game with Hellblade, though it’s more than just that. Senua’s Sacrifice is a deeper game than most.

At first glance, it’s lush and detailed world is the stage for a straightforward action-packed quest with monsters aplenty. But it goes deeper then just that. Hellblade is also an exploration of mental illness.

Since its initial launch, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice has taken over a million fans worldwide on a journey with Senua, a Celtic warrior who embarks on a haunting vision quest to save the soul of her dead lover from Viking hell. Created in collaboration with neuroscientists and people who experience psychosis, the game will pull players deep into Senua’s mind.

Of course, aside from having a heck of a lot going on within the main quest, Hellblade was also a big time winner with critics. The game won a ton of awards, including several BAFTA’s and Best Audio Design, Best Performance, and Best Game for Impact at the 2017 Game Awards. We also reviewed the game, tagging it with an 87% and calling it “a one of a kind gaming experience.”

So, bottom line, if you missed it the first time, then you’ll want to take a look at round two. The game will be making the jump from digital to physical, retail edition this December the 4th. You can grab a copy on the PS4, or for the first time on the Xbox One, which will be distributed directly by Microsoft.
