Get ready for some, high flying (plastic) wrestling action. Mattel has revealed a fresh toy line for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide is on the way.

When was the last time that we saw a Lucha Libre lineup of action figures? We’re pretty sure there’ve been some in the past, but it’s been a while to say the least. And whatever there was, we feel confident saying that it wasn’t in the league of Mattel‘s WWE action figure line.
That series of both modern and classic superstars has been around for years (and years) at this point. It’s produced some excellent figures too, even expanding into the realms of the 80s, 90s and beyond. The news that’s just been revealed at SDCC 2026 though, is something else entirely. Well, kind of.
Technically related to the company’s WWE line, comes an assortment of figures that’ll hail from Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. If you’re not familiar with that, it’s one of the biggest wrestling organizations south of the border. Not only that, but it’s also one that’s now majority owned by WWE. So with that, it isn’t all that much of a stretch to see Mattel kick off a line of AAA‘s stars.
That’s just what the toy giant will be doing, as the wrestling spinoff series will launch next fall (2027).
Beginning Fall 2027, Mattel will launch an all-new line of AAA action figures inspired by the promotion’s legendary stars, iconic masks, and vibrant storytelling. Known for their distinctive masks, costumes, and larger-than-life personas, AAA’s characters are made for collectability, appealing to longtime collectors and the lucha libre community. The new collection will celebrate AAA’s iconic style while expanding Mattel’s portfolio beyond WWE, creating new opportunities to connect with the world of sports entertainment.

Officially, the initial lineups for this new series haven’t yet been revealed. There are some images that are floating around social media though, so if you look a bit, you’ll likely run into them. While we don’t want to comment on those pictures just yet, we have seen them, and yes, they’re looking pretty slick.
