Shadaloo’s resident boxing champ and all-around tough guy Balrog is finally here for Street Fighter V.
Nice of Bison to just kind of stand around and let Balrog take out his frustrations on him.
Then again, the big guy’s got reason to be a little peeved at his boss. He’s one of the staple SF characters after all. While he is important, he’s not alone in that new download (which actually hits on July 1st).
Balrog will be joined by Juri and Urien. The two lesser known characters will both be available only in the new story mode for now. Standalone versions of the pair will be available at a later date, so you will be able to use them online as well at that point. No date on that for right now though.
Finally, a story mode
While that might be a slight disappointment for some, the addition of the cinematic story mode should be a letdown for no one. It’s kind of standard that fighting games ship with some kind of arcade/single player experience after all. That Capcom’s latest fighter didn’t was just kind of… weird.
In addition to all of the above, you’ll also be able to unlock the Private Beach stage in SFV, and an alt (bikini) costume for Karen; both hitting with the update. So there’s a lot of new stuff here for Street Fighter V fans, and plenty to get those who haven’t bought into the game to give it a second look.
Street Fighter V is available on both the PS4 and the PC via Steam. You can check out our review of the base game here.
