The legendary Starcraft is coming back. Blizzard made a new game official at BlizzCon, though it’s not a real-time strategy game.
Starcraft, but in a whole new way
BlizzCon was the gift that kept on giving this year, as the publisher rolled out a series of big reveals. Diablo V was one of those, but so was Starcraft: Dominion. The first new game to feature the beloved property since 2015’s Legacy of the Void expansion will look a fair shake different than what you might be expecting though.
It looks as though Blizzard isn’t done with the idea of creating new avenues with the property. And to that end, Starcraft: Dominion will be a third-person shooter. From what we can gather from around the web however, we won’t be looking at a live service game, or some multiplayer affair, as has been rumored.
Instead, the action title will present a single-player, story-driven adventure. As for playable characters, fans will reportedly create their own Marine to field. And when you watch the trailer, that part specifically comes across pretty well.
After all, the Dominion can’t get enough fodder to throw at the enemies of mankind.
As neat as that cinematic look at Starcraft: Dominion was, it’s pretty much all there is to report on at present. The info on the game, as with the aforementioned Diablo V, is extremely light at present. And other than the bits and pieces that we mentioned above, there’s really nothing else to go on.
Stay tuned though, as there’s a long way to go before this new title hits consoles and the PC. So we assume is won’t be too long before Blizzard returns with plenty more to show off. Hopefully that comes sooner than later, but if you just can’t wait, make sure to check out the official site, here. There you’ll be able to sign up to receive updates as they’re pumped out.
