Remastered 3D platformer Croc Legend of the Gobbos launching next month

A classic 3D platformer from the original PlayStation days, Croc Legend of the Gobbos is getting a remaster in April.

The green guy is back

Maybe not the best known 90s platformer, Croc Legend of the Gobbos originally saw release back in 1997 for the PlayStation, PC, and Sega Saturn. The title starred a cute lil’ reptile named Croc, who found himself adopted by a furry race of fantasy beings, the Gobbos. The action begins when Croc’s friends get kidnapped by some malcontents, and of course it’s up to Croc to save ’em.

Now Argonaut Games is bringing the title back for a new generation of fans, by way of a remaster that’s looking pretty sharp. This fresh edition of the game will offer updated visuals of course, plus will add in “updated quality-of-life features, and an array of exciting additions”, according to the developers.

The remastered Croc Legend of the Gobbos brings the heartwarming journey of Croc, the humble and courageous little crocodile, equipped with his iconic backpack and wiggly butt back to life with vibrant high-definition graphicsamodern control and camera system, and refined gameplay mechanics. Once again, players will embark on a delightful quest across a series of imaginative worlds by running, jumping, climbing, swimming, and tail spinning to rescue the adorable Gobbos from the nefarious Baron Dante’s grasp. Players will navigate Croc through beautifully recrafted levels brimming with quirky enemies, puzzles, and hidden secrets in order to save Croc’s adoptive family of  Gobbos from captivity.

Argonaut Games press release

Croc returns when Croc Legend of the Gobbos arrives for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via GOG) on April 2nd.
