Nintendo Download: April Fresh

The first full week of April brings a heavy dose of smaller scale releases to the Switch, including indie title What They Don’t Sea.

“Smaller” might be an understatement

April hasn’t typically been known as an anchor month for big new game releases, and this new Nintendo Download is perfectly evident of that. Included in this first week of April is a chunky list of small, indie titles, that includes pretty much exclusively games you won’t have heard of.

The one possible exception to that is What They Don’t Sea An undersea game of exploration and O2 management, What They Don’t Sea casts players as a diver who’s been assigned a mission to collect algae samples from the deep, dark. Along the way, said diver will have to deal with controlling his oxygen supply, as well as some friendly and not-friendly sea life.

  • What They Don’t Sea– Explore a wonderful mix of beautiful and creepy environments, with drops of humor delivered by charming underwater creatures in this oceanic adventure! As a marine researcher with the Rachel Carson Research Organization, you have been sent to collect samples of a new species of algae for an alternative energy project. Explore the depths of the ocean but be sure to watch your air levels! Friendly creatures like Bean, the jellyfish weapons dealer, will help prepare you for the … not-so-friendly creatures along your journey. What They Don’t Sea was created by Team Atlantis, a group of middle school girls who won the grand prize at the 2019 Girls Make Games Demo Day competition.
