Trepang2 reloads for new Deluxe Edition, out now on PC

Already a slick FPS, Trepang2 is back and ready to get “Deluxe” with new horde maps, skins, and lots more.

Trepang-ing again

It wasn’t all that long ago that Trepang Studios’ Trepang2 saw release. A first-person shooter, Trepang2 was a throwback to FPS’ of the mid-2k’s, along the lines of FEAR. As such, you’d expect plenty of insane gunplay, super-powers, and some otherworldly elements. Not to worry, as all of that was onboard for the title’s original release, along with a wicked story that worked in real-world paranormal tales.

But if you thought that was going to be it for the game, you’d best think again. Publisher Team17 has returned to the terrifying blastathon’s universe for a new Deluxe Edition, which offers a bunch of fresh content, including new horde maps for players to tackle.

A spiritual successor to the fast-paced and over-the-top first-person shooters of the mid-2000s, Trepang2 pairs high-octane, first-person gun-fu gameplay with a devastating heavy metal soundtrack, as players embark on a supernatural journey of death, destruction, and corporate conspiracies. Stepping into the boots of a newly enhanced super soldier broken out from a government black site, they’ll arm themselves with an arsenal of weapons while mastering an array of newfound superhuman abilities, all the while hunted by their former captors and even more otherworldly foes.

Team17 press release

While Trepang2 is out for both the PC and consoles right now, the new version of the game is exclusive to the Steam platform. Along with the base game, the Deluxe Edition includes both the newly launched Survival Mode and the upcoming DLC that’s planned for release in 2024.

If you’ve yet to pull the trigger on the game in any form, then now might be your time too, as it’s got a nice little discount happening. From now until November 20th, FPS fans can pick up a copy of Trepang2 Deluxe Edition for a neat 33% off of the ticketed price. Interesting number they chose there…
