Hot Toys new Venom looks massive, ultra-detailed, and is ripped right from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

If the company’s movie Venom figure wasn’t your thing, then its upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 figure might be.

We are Venom

Look, the movie version of Venom isn’t for everybody. Just to clarify, we mean films aside, because we’re just talking about looks here in terms of action figures. And in that way, it’s just not for everybody. For us, the main reason for that is that it lacks the white “spider” emblem. And depending on your preferences as a Spidey fan, that could be a deal-breaker if you’re looking to add a big, bad Venom to your shelves.

Well enter the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 version, and although said symbol looks more like Mac Gargan’s version than the classic comics’ Venom, it’s still pretty freaking great. Hot Toys will be pouncing on that, and everything else that the video game’s version entails, for its upcoming figure. This thing is looking flat-out incredible, with some awesome posing options and an amazing scale.

If you don’t know, in the video game Venom is monstrous. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 skips the toned-down original comics vision, and dives right into the monster-scaled beast from the void version who towers over Spidey. So how big’s the toy then? He’s almost 2 feet, clocking in at 20.1″.

Yeah.

Measuring an imposing 20.8” (53 cm) tall, the 1/6 scaled Venom collectible figure is faithfully crafted and meticulously hand-painted based on the character’s intimidating appearance in the new video game.

Featuring two newly developed headsculpts (one with an open mouth and the other with a wicked grin) and three interchangeable tongues, there are multiple ways to manipulate his menacing countenance. The specially designed body has over 20 points of articulation, and comes with numerous swap-out hands, claws, and symbiotic tendril accessories.

Sideshow Toys press release

Now, being that Venom is this massive, you already have the idea he’s not gonna be cheap. While he could easily be a centerpiece for a collection, Venom is a beast in terms of price, clocking in at $455 USD. But again, if you’re a big enough fan, well he’s probably worth it.

You can grab a pre-order via the above links, and then sit back. Venom is set to ship some time in the second half of 2024.
