Kona II: Brume serves up a frigid new mystery today

Rural Canada in the 1970’s is the setting for Kona II: Brume, which sets players to work against a frosty mystery.

The mist

There’s something happening in the mysterious mist that surrounds a remote Canadian mining village… something terrible. As Detective Carl Faubert, players will head into the “vast, fictive land of Manastan in Northern Canada” to explore a sparsely-populated village caught in the midst of a storm called the “Brume”.

Once there, you’ll have to not only use actual detective skills, but also “a bitter cold blizzard, dangerous wildlife, and troubling nightmares”. And from the looks of the launch trailer, it sounds like there might be a heck of a lot more to this story than just a cold front and some moose.

Set in a rural Canadian mining village in the 1970s, Kona II: Brume places you in the shoes of Detective Carl Faubert as he unravels the mysteries haunting this once-tranquil place and fights to survive the blizzard that has descended upon it. As Carl investigates the mysterious mist called the Brume, he learns that, even with it surrounding him on all sides, he may not be alone.

PLAION press release

From developer Parabole, Kona II: Brume is out now for Xbox and PlayStation platforms, the Switch, and the PC.
