The return of Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira to The Walking Dead loomed large at the AMC’s NYCC panel today.
The dead rise again
AMC served up plenty of new looks for those who are into some of the network’s biggest properties at its presentation today. But while there were new trailers for Interview with the Vampire and Orphan Black: Echoes, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live was the star.
Featuring actors Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira, who of course played big parts in the mainline show for years, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live will tell a totally new tale with Rick and Michonne at its heart. But although it might be a love story between the two, don’t expect a dearth of action.
Happiness, you understand, isn’t all that easy to hold onto in a dead-world.
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live presents an epic love story of two characters changed by a changed world. Kept apart by distance. By an unstoppable power. By the ghosts of who they were. Rick and Michonne are thrown into another world, built on a war against the dead… And ultimately, a war against the living. Can they find each other and who they were in a place and situation unlike any they’ve ever known before? Are they enemies? Lovers? Victims? Victors? Without each other, are they even alive — or will they find that they, too, are the Walking Dead? The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live stars Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira. Scott M. Gimple, Chief Content Officer of The Walking Dead Universe, serves as showrunner and executive producer alongsideLincoln, Gurira, Denise Huth and Brian Bockrath.

Don’t forget Daryl
With the show in production right now, there wasn’t an actual look at season two of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon at NYCC. What we did get though, was just the tiniest bit of fresh info. Subtitled “The Book of Carol”, the upcoming second installment will put star Norman Reedus back in the title role some time in 2024. And once again, it’ll be for more undead action in what used to be France.
Currently in production on Season 2 in France and set to premiere in 2024, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon- The Book of Carol, stars Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Clémence Poésy, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, Laika Blanc Francard, Anne Charrier, Romain Levi and Eriq Ebouaney and is executive produced by showrunner David Zabel, Scott M.
