The Dark Knight Rises for a special 1/4 scale figure from Hot Toys

In a scale you don’t see all that often from Hot Toys, the collectible company has a quarter-scale Batman coming up soon from The Dark Knight Rises.

Rising scale

Not that Hot Toys never does quarter scale figures, but you don’t see them nearly as much as the company’s sixth-scale offerings. So in that way, this “The Dark Knight Rises” Batman is kind of special.

The figure is sculpted to reflect the Batman’s appearance in that last film of the Nolan trilogy, and comes loaded for bear. This is Hot Toys after all, so you’d expect nothing less that a gaggle of inclusions. But it’s nonetheless notable for what looks like a pretty great Christian Bale likeness.

Additional cool stuff in the box includes a ‘light-up eyes’ head sculpt to reflect Batman’s appearance at the end of The Dark Knight, and a display base with callbacks to the series’ villains.

Inspired by Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy, the Batman 1/4 Scale Figure by Hot Toys features two masked head sculpts with interchangeable face designs, including one with LED light-up eyes and one utilizing Hot Toys’ innovative rolling eyeball function, which allows collectors to adjust the figure’s gaze. An all-new hand-painted headsculpt with a detailed likeness of Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne is also included.

This highly poseable figure wears a finely tailored Batsuit composed of a fabric costume covered with armor, featuring a carbon fiber-like weave. His iconic costume is completed with a flowing black cape and a partially diecast metallic gold utility belt. Accessories include a light-up EMP rifle, a sticky bomb gun, a grapnel gun, Batarangs, and a miniature mine. The figure also comes with wonderful display accessories including a chest bust collectible stand for the additional headsculpts and a detailed diorama base featuring a rogue’s gallery of Ra’s al Ghul, Bane, and The Joker.

Sideshow Toys press release

Along with the base (Collector’s) edition, there’s also a Deluxe version of this same figure. That includes everything that you see here, plus a cowl for display with (presumably) the unmasked ‘Bruce Wayne’ head. Kind of a cool addition, and one that adds nothing to the price.

Both versions of the figure are priced in at $595 USD, and both are scheduled to ship out some time between April and June of this year.
